We have many talents at Commerce East. Amongst the world class bakers, cooks and eaters, we have some creative individuals comparable to Martha Stewart. We have poetic talents that could put Robert Frost to shame, artists that rival greats like Monet, and structural engineers with nimble fingers.
Here are some examples:
Heaven
By Robb, Adam, Richard, and Laurel
Heaven is in a manger
But it’s missing some angels
Getting there on a magic carpet
Made of shocks
No, if you go to heaven, you’ll die
You don’t have to die—you just need a coffin to get there
It’s a place you get shocked easily and it’s over
Smelling of friendly food and angel food cake
…and donuts
…and ice cream
You get to stay for seven days
And then, you go to Sally’s
Sleeping on beds made of quilts
Saying it will be insane
Kind of like a light switch that you turn off and on
…used for electricity
The angels sleep on couches made of junk food
…and there better be some blankets
Turning off their halo lights to sleep
So they don’t go haywire
Their wing’s borrowed to the pizza dragon while they sleep
Animals have that long beak
So they can’t fly in heaven
Jesus loves shocking music
…kind of like rap
It’s king of like 102.9 Lite FM or Kool 108
Live in the dungeon forever—you get lots and lots of candy
Then brush your teeth!
Take the limousine to heaven
But you have to wipe the windows
Ending a happy story
